Logo Design Brief

I need a logo design for my educational consulting business. I specialize in working with K-12 children. I offer tutoring services, especially for children with learning disabilities and dyslexia. I also offer educational evaluations both privately and for school districts. I also consult with parents, teachers, and schools. Part of my business in international and I have worked with schools on the business end, such as getting State approvals and credentialing. I would like the logo to be creative and interesting. I currently use an apple from an online printing company. I don't want the logo to be too "childish" and I like the formality of script initials, but I think script initials might be too formal. It needs to be somewhere in the middle.
