I know it's a detail but the horse having its left foot stretched out front, like in the !photo! conveys the urge for speed. This is how horses actually gallop at full pelt. Would love to see both of the mans feet somehow. Like in the color photo.

The mans left hand in the !Photo! is WAY out in front, this gives the horse 'its head' - its the rider signalling 'go for it buddy!' to the horse. People who watch horses a lot see this.
