In the locksmith business, we often have a reputation problem caused by out of state outfits that run call centers advertising to be a local business and then subcontracting the work to anyone who will answer. Often at rates that are too low to earn a living. This causes these subcontractors to add work to the job, usually at excessive rates and often unneeded, sometimes off the books. There are horror stories and consumers want to avoid these businesses. I chose the name Gray Duck because #1, If you are local to Minnesota "You get that this is a local term" and might laugh at the idea. If someone where to ask me, "Why Gray Duck", I might laugh and say "see my Gray hair, I'm getting older...". Or I might joke that I can't offer a "black and white" answer to that one. This is a sort of secret handshake between those who grew up here and those that did not. I want to be bold in color, bold in my name, and still project a professional image that you can laugh at.

You should also search wikipeda for Duck Duck Goose and read about alternative versions. Please also Google for "onlyinyourstate" with duck duck gray duck.

I would like to share with all designers those I like, with comments about why. I'm very open and appreciate the creativity prsented. I don't want to narrow my views too quickly, but I can share what I like and why.

Hello. Pls. do not post designer's entries. There is a reason why the platform does not allow us, designers, to see each others' designs. That is to avoid copying or having similar designs. And also, to be fair the owner of the original work.

I am preferring designs that would support using the name "Gray Duck Locks" as well as "Grey Duck Security LLC". I want to be able to interchange Locks and Security or Security LLC.
I prefer a design that does not feature a geographic element. For example, I do not want to see an outline of the state of Minnesota or US or any other geography.
I appreciate modern lines or looks, rather than traditional or older looks. Simple functional appearance.
