Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design for our new company, Caffè Roam, which is a mobile espresso catering service that provides barista-crafted espresso drinks at customers’ events, parties, and businesses. We want to provide an elegant and delicious alternative to the standard commercial coffee pots.

Our target customers are professionals aged between 30-50 who are organizing their own events, such as office managers, event planners, or higher income earners. Other customers include non-profit organizations or individuals looking for an alternative to alcoholic beverages.

We want to convey a sense of elegance, class, excitement, fun, and professionalism to align with our different types of customers.

We serve classic Italian espresso drinks, specialty single-origin coffees, as well as Asian-inspired offerings such as Thai teas and coffees, Japanese matcha drinks, and chai.

We serve events from 20 to 400 guests. We hope to expand our drink selection and sell our own small batch coffee beans in the future. The coffee beans will be under a different brand, but a similar style might be used for the packaging.

The logo you design will be used on our website, business cards, cups, and aprons. It will also be used as a basis for our brand identity.

The color palette can include black, white, browns, reds, yellows, or perhaps even green. The logo should also look good in black and white.

We are most interested in combination marks, but wordmarks, or standard logo + text designs may also be considered. We are ok with being wrong.

If you are going to emphasize one word, please emphasize the word "Roam". The name "Roam" was chosen because it can also mean "to wander" which ties into our business being a "mobile" espresso catering service that can go anywhere. The word "Caffè" means "coffee" in Italian. The name of the business would "Roam Coffee" if translated into English.

We would like to stay away from the standard cup and bean designs (see "too obvious" photo). Any references to those designs should be abstract or not immediately apparent (see last attachment as an example of something acceptable, but please do not copy it). Feel free to use your imagination and your personality come out in your logo designs. We want something as unique and as wonderful as you.

Our business is also unique because we are a mobile espresso catering company, like a mobile coffee shop. A creative way to show motion or mobility, roam or roaming might be one idea you could use.

Please see the attached photos to see an example of what our setup will look like. I would like this to dictate what your ideas come from. Think of the types of events we will serve and the people that will book us. What are they looking for? What will attract them?
