Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design for a new company that Distributes ATM (Automated Teller Machines) to local businesses and events. We would like a design to look modern and clever with a solid image that communicates the perception of safe, protective, bold, modern, and edgy (perhaps metal cut shield effect).

I like the gun metal feel only when on dark background, but I need it to look good on a white background for letter heads. Please use different colors so it doesnt look old faded gray when on a white back ground please. To be clever make the shield also act as a vault door with handle to open, be creative.
