Book Cover Design Brief

*05/10 WILL BE THE FINAL DAY FOR SUBMISSIONS*

An eBook cover for a Sci-fi novel along with an Audio Book version.

Specs:
-1x eBook Cover 2,560px x 1,600px (1.5:1 aspect ratio)
-1x Audio Book Cover 3,200px x 3,200px (1:1 aspect ratio) - This should be as minor as possible an alteration from the eBook cover and is not the priority for design choices

Essentials:
-Title: "A Brother's Shadow"
-Author name: "Christopher Tillott"
-Looks good at a thumbnail size (it is an eBook)

Ideally included:
- Contrast of colours e.g. bright and dark
-Not too many colours, especially if clashing
- A human element e.g. a shadow/outline/shrouded face (I would rather not have a fully visible face as I want this for the readers imagination)
- Gets across that it is sci-fi (and potentially more themes)
-Not too much going on
-Probably not aliens

Potential themes:
-The main civilization's emblem is 3 vertical black rectangles on a white background (please see picture) - I envisage this could in some way be used as a part of the cover, not necessarily black on white etc.
-There is a friendship throughout between two young men, Archer and Marco, but the main character, Marco, always feels in Archer's shadow.
-The main character is framed for assassinating an alien ambassador and other characters spend the book trying to find the true killer
-The civilisation is at war, concluding with a battle of space fighters
-Space stations/ships/planets

About the book:
-Humans have colonised across the milky way
-The citizens of the main civilisation (Vytech) believe it is the best civilisation
-It is set in the 23rd Century
-Marco is 23, and is determined, brash and forever trying to prove himself
-Archer is handsome, likeable, and what Marco wishes he was
-The main locations are a jungle covered planet, space stations and Mars
-They wear white uniforms with black sides
