Fledgling industrial diamond supplier needs a logo to knock the competition off their perches

Googling "shrike vector" and then taking the first image you come across that you don't have any rights over, slapping it on top of a lazy rendering of a cogwheel is not an example of winning logo design. If you slap the design together in 5 minutes then you probably are wasting those five minutes.
I don't need or expect a $10,000 logo here. I recognize I'm not paying that much. But if you aren't putting in at least 30 minutes to 1 hour of serious effort to make this logo then I probably am not interested.
That being said, I posted a number of pictures of shrikes in poses that I like. You might consider converting one of those photos into a vector design of a shrike. I don't particularly want a shrike in flight image.
Also, I should not have mentioned a hammer as a symbol of industry. Hammers and diamonds are not really in the same world when it comes to tools. I am not sure how to incorporate a diamond vector image into this. I had thought maybe the shrike could have a small diamond in it's mouth? Or that maybe I would have an image of an anvil with a diamond on top of it. But I am not sure where the shrike and thorn would then go together with it.
Anyway, if you seem like you made even the slightest effort, I'll give you the best feebdack I can to try and help you get to a winning image with the least amount of effort and time spent. If it's really not a fit, I'll let you know quickly and explain why I feel that way.
Thank you in advance.
I am shocked by this website and almost all of it's designers. Almost every contributed logo was incredible. I had no idea the caliber of artistry on here was so high. The logos were thoughtfully and intelligently created. They clearly captured what I was going after in the brief (and that was despite the fact that I didn't write a very good one). All of the designs were unique, distinct from one another and also reflective of each artists' specific design aesthetic.
I am close to deciding on a winner but I juts wanted to say to each of you how appreciative I am of your efforts here.
You were all amazing in what you created, responsive to messages and feedback, and I thought went above and beyond in your deliver. You guys are pro.
I hope you'll allow me to invite you to contribute to future posts of mine. In a few cases, I am thinking I will circle back around after this project is complete and engage with a few of the artists to explore their logo designs in a bit more depth. I mentioned to one of the artists here that I would like to keep the brand of this company fresh and constantly evolving so I can see potential down the road for different versions of the logo to rotate in.
Thanks so much for working on this and for your contributions thus far!
You said you are close to selecting a winner. Does that mean you are no longer interested in new designs? Thanks!
Thank you for your kind words; mean a lot to us. All the best whatever is your final choice, artespraticas
Hi Dennis,
Sorry for any confusion my post caused. I really thought that all the designs had been submitted and from those that had I had a few finalists in mind. I was surprised more came in. They are most welcome additions. I'm going to look over each of them today and provide feedback if I think they could work for us.
I will try to finalize asap so I don't leave everyone in limbo wondering. Thank you for your message. I'm still figuring out how things work here.
