Logo Design Brief

I have a medium/high-end furniture store. I already build and sell lamps and stuff, so I'm going to start selling lamp shades and finials retail. I need a logo that says "Shade Shop" for a sign I'm going to make to go over the shelving I built that holds the actual lampshades and the backlit acrylic float mounts I'm making for the finials. This is gonna sound vague and wishy-washy...... I'm young (ish)(36), male, and eccentric, and I want something kinda loud and modern. My customer base (and almost certainly my new lampshade customer base), is older and more traditional. I don't want cursive nonsense writing on it. I want something a little harsher, stronger, more angular, more modern, while not being so modern it makes Granny Mabel uncomfortable. I would love, love, love, for someone to find a way to work some type of lampshade shape into the words or a letter in the logo. Something that makes it obvious what I'm selling, even if they don't read the words "Shade Shop". I need the text in two lines. Centered is preferable, but I can make it work if I love it and it's not too off center. First thing I'm using this for is to make a custom LED neon sign to go over the whole thing I'm building. After that, we will see based on how this takes off. This isn't a separate business, but I would like the option to use this logo on business cards, a website, or whatever. I have no idea if this is relevant, but it will probably be a deep blue most of the time, but will be color controllable all the way across, so I reserve the right to turn it all disco if I'm in the mood. That sounds tacky, but I just mean I might switch it to our college football team's colors on a home game or something like that (or actually switch it to sound activated RGB while listening to really loud EDM or rap late at night, while working on the store). Someone please just make me something sexy, expensive-looking, loud (but tasteful), and cool. In other words, an impossible combination. I know what it is I ask. Basically, I want cool, edgy, mid-century-ish(don't hate me), while also not something that's going to make Delores think I'm trying to make her drop her panties. Honestly, show me something that will make Delores drop them, and that might be the ticket. Who knows. My favorite designer is Jonathan Adler, my favorite author is Iain M. Banks, and my favorite food is crazy spicy Thai food or also crazy spicy pork ramen, use that as you will. Also, if it matters, this is going above shelving on a wall that is 16ft tall and about 24ft wide. Go wild.

Requirements

Must have

• Clean lines. Modern but not offputting to traditional customers. Look expensive. Hopefully a lampshade shape built into a letter or the whole logo. It's for a sign, but I need to be able to use it for a website logo and business cards if this works out.

Nice to have

• Lampshade (or something like that) shape played up in the letters or a word or the whole thing. Useable as a logo for website or business card. I'm a married dude that sells high end furniture and does design work for wealthy women in the South, but I also build computers and networks, do all the maintenance on my trucks, plumb, run electrical , etc. My favorite genre of books is hard Sci-Fi. My favorite band is either, The Flaming Lips, Pink Floyd, Ghostland Observatory, Daft Punk (or maybe something like Eric Prydz), who knows, it changes. Just not country. Also yes to any rap from the early 90's (Ice Cube is probably at the front there).I love loud, modern stuff. I like colors, shapes, and textures. My customers want neutral everything. They're boring. Someone give me something that I like to look at, but my customers aren't offended by.
