Logo Design Brief

We are looking for a creative designer to conceive a logo for our new mental health therapy practice, "Tides Mental Health". This practice is based in Chicago and will market itself as an upscale, modern and sophisticated practice but also one that is accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds. Individual, couples and group therapy will be provided to clients of all ages to help address common issues such as ADHD, anxiety, depression and mood disorders.

Design Suggestions:

Concepts / Metaphors: The link between tides and mental health can be explained through the metaphor of the ebb and flow of emotions. Just as tides rise and fall in the ocean, our emotions also have ups and downs. Sometimes we feel calm and balanced, while other times we may experience intense or tumultuous emotions. This metaphor can help to convey the idea that our emotions are a normal and natural part of life, much like the tides.

Additionally, the tides metaphor can be used to emphasize the importance of finding balance and stability in our emotional lives. Just as the ocean tides are affected by various factors, such as the moon and wind, our emotions can also be influenced by external events and internal factors. By understanding and managing these influences, we can work towards finding a sense of balance and stability in our emotional lives, much like a sailor navigating the tides.

Modern, Iconic, Fresh, and Simple: The logo should feel modern yet timeless. It should be easy to recognize and distinct, encapsulating the fresh and simple approach that our practice embodies. It should exude a sense of professionalism and sophistication. The design should be uncluttered, not too complex, and be able to scale well.

Incorporation of Text and Icon: We want both text (our business name 'Tides Mental Health') and an icon in our logo. The icon could be an abstract representation or a clever combination of symbols that relate to the theme of 'tides' and 'mental health'. The icon should be able to stand on its own while still being strongly associated with the brand.

Color Scheme: The logo should primarily incorporate a shade of blue or green that captures the sense of 'tides', signifying the ebb and flow of life. However, it should not be monochromatic; we need an alternative color or colors that would complement the blue, bring balance, and enhance the overall design. Please provide a brief explanation of your color choice(s).

Versatility: The logo should be able to be used across multiple platforms such as print, digital, and merchandise.
