Logo Design Brief

We need a logo for a bar/bistro located in a hotel in the St. Louis area - specifically Clayton, MO. This sophisticated area has a large presence of high-rises with corporate clientele and specifically law firms, courthouse, St. Louis County judicial hub in addition to a collection of boutiques, galleries, hotels and restaurants. This bar/bistro has a limited food menu with flatbreads, sandwiches - and primarily serves customers from the bar for cocktails and beer - 4 local beer offerings. Name of the bar is SIDEBAR (all caps). We own a bar called the UPBAR. I'm including a file so you can see what the logo looks like. SIDEBAR will be a completely different concept - so the logo doesn't have to match the UPBAR - however - we love the way the "A" in the UPBAR logo is depicted utilizing a special character. (SIDEBAR is a nod to the "sidebar" reference in a trial). I am including a picture of the SIDEBAR inside the hotel (labeled Residence Inn Clayton MO - sidebar). I'm also including a picture of the library in the hotel (labeled Residence Inn Clayton MO - library), to show the blue color we like. I've included an example of a logo we like - but we do not need to mimic this design (labeled logo example). We like the brown and blue - but not specifically this brown and this blue.

REQUIRED:
• Logo must be able to be used vertically or horizontally
• Logo and name are the same
• Name/logo should include a unique character. Example(Caret in upb^r)
• 2 Colors only
