Graphic Design Brief
**THE BRIEF**
We need a poster & key artwork for Chamberlain Ballet’s upcoming Nutcracker in Fall 2023.
This poster (11x17) will also act as the key art & style guide for the rest of our marketing campaign. We’ll create banners, postcards and simpler versions of the the final poster you design for the rest of our marketing activity.
The design needs to be eye-catching and visually arresting.
The show is a family show based on the Alexandre Dumas père version of E.T.A Hoffmann's tale, The Nutcracker and the Mouse King (1816). The ballet, The Nutcracker, with classical ballet choreography, music by Tchakovsky, the elaborate characters, the adventure - The Nutcracker is a timeless classic of the holiday season. It's a cherished classic, sure to keep hearts- young and old - warm and spirited all season long.
**DETAILS**
- It is called “The Nutcracker”
- The tagline is: Thanksgiving weekend
- November 24-26, 2023
- It is at the Eisemann Performing Arts Center, Richardson TX
- The URL we want people to visit is chamberlainballet.org/nutcracker
- Please leave a square space on the poster for a QR code (we will replace later on)
- Our logo is attached - please use this with some copy that says “{logo} presents”
- PLEASE USE the Nutcracker logo/lockup attached. If you want to recreate this, the font is Bebas Neue (regular)
- Please leave a space for the logo of our primary sponsor (TBC - feel free to use a generic holding logo for now which we will swap out) and this needs to say “sponsored by {logo}”
- We need a long, horizontal space at the bottom of the poster which says “Chamberlain Ballet is funded in part by:“, then shows the logos of our secondary sponsors (also TBC, but we are expecting 7-10 of these)
**VISUAL STYLE BRIEF**
- It needs to feel fun, family friendly but still classy.
- Feel free to choose a primary and secondary font for lettering- but no more than two
- Color scheme: festive and colorful
- We want the make the viewer feel: wonderment, excited, on-the-edge, please dont use ballet stock imagery.
- It needs to communicate dance.
Please see last years poster AS reference. This year, we want to make it a little more family centric and fun.
-Please look at the reference photo, design can be very slightly Lichtenstein cartoon effect.
-DO NO SUBMIT SOMETHING WITH A DIFFERENT Nutcracker LOGO, use the exact same one that's provided for you.
- Please dont make design to cluttered.
