Logo Design Brief

We need a new logo based around the Large E in the attached photo. We have traditionally had an oval log with our full name written on it , but we would like a new logo as a symbol with just our E on it. We are a marine dealership that has been around for 45 years that has 5 marina locations and two dealerships. We are build around a family business are very passionate about living the lake lifestyle. We want a new symbol to show our Erwin name's heritage but incorporated into a unique shield shape or some symbol that accentuates the E. This logo should stand out on its own and look good in any orientation. It does not need any writing on it except for the E in the font shown in the attached file.
