Wordpress Design Brief

1. Project Overview

- We represent "Gemeinsam für Willinghusen e.V.", a non-profit association. Our outdated website www.gfwev.de shall get a proper replacement.

- The primary goal of our new site is to showcase and facilitate bookings for our cultural events, including concerts, theme nights, joint dinners and village festivals.

- Alongside event bookings, we plan to introduce the public to our history, values, leadership team, and news through a regularly updated blog.

- At a later stage we aim to integrate a user-friendly web shop based on WooCommerce, offering a range of up to 10 products related to our organization. This web-shop is not part of this project! The only relevant item is to include one menu item called "Shop" in the menu bar within the header.

2. Design Requirements

- The design should lean towards a sleek, welcoming, and slightly playful OnePage layout for the main page with additional pages as required.

- The color scheme should integrate the blue and red from our logo, as detailed in the attached brand board. However, deviations that enhance the design are welcome.

- Essential files like logos, photos, and texts are provided in the attachments.

- Emphasis should be on illustrating the community spirit, our events, and the emotions they evoke.

- Mobile first! Of course we like a great design both on desktops and smartphones. Nevertheless, if priorizaztion is needed, mobiles comes first.

3. Site Structure and Navigation

The website should be structured as follows:

**Main Page:**
- Opening with a Gallery/Video/Slogan.
- Upcoming Events.
- Counters to track event attendance or other metrics.
- Shoet description of what we do incl. mission Statements.
- Team Introduction.
- Top News Highlights.
- Contact Form.

**Additional Pages:**
- **About Us:** Detailing our history, a gallery, and a membership form.
- **Shop:** The content and setup is not part of this project and shall only be displayed as a menu item in the upper menu bar in the header.
- **Data Protection & Imprint:** Accessible via footer links.

Social media buttons for Facebook and Instagram should be prominently placed, preferably in the footer.

I am not really sure, if the design contest includes one page only. For the project please concentrate anyhow on the main page and we can then clarify further details.

4. Technical Requirements

- The site is to be fully developed in WordPress.

- Samples for initial design, including products, news, and events, are attached. However, the end design should accommodate easy edits and content additions. For the news the blog function within WordPress shall be used.

- Usability is paramount. Therefore, the Elementor plugin should be incorporated for easy edits without in-depth technical knowledge.

5. Event Management

- Events should have categories (e.g., concerts, dinner parties).

- Direct ticket booking with a cap on maximum participants is a must. Potential tools include the WordPress plugin EventsManager or wordpress themes like Exhibz. This project only includes the design of the elements related to the event booking on the main page. The setup of the e-commerce functionality Inch. payment, etc. is not part of this project and will be sourced separately at a later stage.


6. Responsiveness & Speed

- The site must be mobile-responsive, ensuring a seamless experience across devices.

- Page load speed is crucial. Optimizations should be made to ensure swift page loads.

7. SEO & Optimization

- The website should be built with basic SEO principles in mind, ensuring improved visibility on search engines.

8. Post-Design

- Upon design completion, a subsequent project will cover the WordPress setup on our IONOS hosting platform and content addition.

- Continuous direct feedback will be provided throughout the design process to ensure clarity and minimize revisions.

- Post handover, we will manage the site in-house. No long-term maintenance is required from the designer.

9. Additional Notes

- We're open to design deviations if they lead to enhanced outcomes or usability.

Our target audience are the approx. 2.150 citizens of our village based in Germany, east of Hamburg. Many families with children, but also elderly people a singles. Also, foreigners, who are specially interested in our events are considered as our target audience.
