Logo Design Brief

I got a logo designed recently but need help to tweak it. There is the shape of a truss which i like (starts narrow at bottom and blends into thicker lines) and in it are braces the shape of an M for Metal.
Thinking red Metal Frame and black Structures smaller and below.
Nothing crazy. Simple and Clear and Professional.
I like the colour of HILTI's red logo.
Don't want the font too curvey.
I drew up a rough alternative idea for the truss to be incorporated with the M in Metal Frame. It might be an idea.
