Logo Design Brief
The community theater group needs a logo that can be used on playbills, flyers, posters, stationary and any other marketing materials. It should be readable even if it is as small as an inch.
The logo should be graphically modern, upbeat and multi-colored, but also work in black & white. It must contain the classic "comedy/tragedy mask" symbol that features half a happy face and half a sad face, in a clean modern interpretation. There should be a tear under the eye on the sad side.
A big challenge is that the group has a long name; "Connestee Amateur Theatre Society" that should be incorporated into the logo. However, on some occasions the logo may be used without the name. Unfortunately, we CANNOT use the abbreviation; "CATS" as that is the name of a specific play and would be confusing. Since the group has been around for a long time it would be nice to incorporate "Since 1986" in some way.
The final design should be dramatic and communicate emotion and excitement. We have included a sample of a logo that contains many of the creative elements FOR INSPIRATION ONLY. Although it was altered, the base logo is already in use.
We look forward to working with you on this exciting project. Feel free to communicate any comments or questions that you may have.

Updates
A couple of reasons… 1) The wife of the decision maker for the theater group was admitted to the hospital today so he can’t focus on the project until she is stabilized. 2) I am the liaison for the project and I will be traveling for a good part of the week. For the above reasons, we respectfully request an initial extension.
