We are looking to get a poster design for the released theatrical production of 'INTO THE WOODS', a show with a fairytale setting in the southeast of England. It tells the story of a baker and his wife who wish to have a child, but a generational curse prevents them from having children. The witch who set the curse tells the couple if they wish to break it they must gather a list of items before the last midnight in three days time. The baker and wife encounter various characters from different Brothers Grimm fairytales. Some of which include Rapunzel, Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Little Red.
Emphasis on details in the poster:
-A piece of Little Red Riding Hood's cape (as red as blood) snagged on a tree branch
-A lock of Rapunzel's hair (blonde) wrapped around the trunk of a tree
-The outline of a wolf's ears and eyes that blends into the trees at the base of the poster. It's ears should represent a tree and the outlines for the eyes should blend in as a gap between trees.
-The trees should be the border of the poster with the Prince's castle in the background. An outline of Cinderella's golden slipper should be the entrance to the castle
-In the background above the castle is the moon and on it casted a subtle silhouette of a clock about to strike midnight
-The top of the poster is the branches of a tree intertwined to form an arch. The title "Into the Woods" will be centered at the top arranged in a slight curve to follow the pattern of branches. The first line will be "Into the" with "Woods" directly underneath on a separate line
-The font will be "Black Rose"
-The color of the poster should be black and white with hints of different greens (moss, hunter, olive, and fern)
We want the poster to look whimsical and have a minimal design with little details of elements within the show. We have attached a mock up of what we are looking for below.
