Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design for our engineering consultancy business called 'Navier Solutions'. The company provides specialist technical advice for complex aviation projects, focusing on the areas of airworthiness, certification, test and evaluation.

We really like the Australian Kestrel because it acknowledges our Australian heritage; it's a bird of prey which aligns to our aspiration to be a industry leader in our field; and it has an unusual skill of being able to hover, which aligns to our core business of solving complex problems. Please feature the logo design around the Australian Kestrel.
We have made a mock up with it, but don't have the rights to the base image (and can't use it long term), and our mock-up looks amateurish.

We'd like the design to be centred on the colour blue (a reference to the sky and aviation), but some variation in the shade/secondary colours is welcome.

We want the design to be flexible as the brand grows. We want the design to include the logo and the business name (Navier Solutions), in a way that we can separate them in the long term (eg. just show the logo, without the business name).

We want our logo to instil confidence, professionalism and innovation. Not too serious - we're a fun company, but serious enough that the brand can hold it's own against other companies in the industry (QinetiQ, Nova Systems, Downer, AeroPM).
In the final design, please include all the usual file formats (eg. vector file, png/tif, jpg etc)

• Finer detail in the image would be nice (eg. feathers, eyes, claws etc), but not at the cost of becoming too complex. We're curious about having 'NS' incorporated into the logo, but convinced on whether we'd go with this yet.
