Tattoo Design Brief

I have a picture of my girlfriend and I, that I would like set inside of a heart outline. I have had shells encasing my heart blocking its emotions for 15 years, so I would like to illustrate the shells or encasement breaking away, almost like exploding or bursting away so that you can see the portrait in the heart.
