Logo Design Brief

Kairos Combat Sports is a newly founded Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym. We focus on a well rounded and comprehensive approach to BJJ. One of the main pillars that separates our gym from others is our focus on victim advocacy for individuals of all walks of life who have experienced trauma. We strive for all our members to be able to confidently roll through life, both on and off the mats.
The mascot for the gym is a dart frog and a hippopotamus. Both animals are considered prey but highly feared by most predators because of their physical attributes. For this design we are looking for a frog logo. Attached is a sample we have but we are unsure of it copyrights so we would want something unique to our gym. The dart frog is significant to us since our lead coach is also nicknamed “dart frog” because is of small stature, very quick in movements, and deadly in his submission game. The emotions we want this to evoke is a sense of composure and grace to reflect the “bounce back” from hard times and confidence that is born out of recovery and tragedy.

We are looking to play with the stance position of the frog. Maybe standing or catching something with its tongue or hand as a nod to kairos meaning at the divine time essentially. The color can be closer to a real dart frog which are poisonous and brightly colored.
