Logo Design Brief

I'm looking for a professional logo as i start my own housing developer consultant business. This work entails obtaining rights to develop on land to construct affordable and mixed income housing. My clients may be private developers and government agencies.
I like the following image of a map and would like the logo to reflect something graphic like this.
The logo needs to look clean and can have a somewhat whimsical look with a cityscape or building (no homes please) but needs to look professional. I'd want any reference to towns, cities or buildings to be subtle. I've included some modern line map images I'd like to use as reference in the logo.
