Logo Design Brief

We have an existing logo for our competitive youth swim teams. That logo is about strength and speed and our adult program has different goals. Beginners (75% of our program) want to be comfortable in deep water. Our more advance students are looking for comfort and efficiency while swimming longer distances. You can see the use of that current logo at: https://www.sigmaswim.com/page/adult-drowning-prevention. That font, by the way, is Univers Extra Black Oblique which we own.

We want to:
a) make all the letters the same size and in a navy color. Note that orange highlights would be welcomed to tie this gently to the youth team logo, and
b) 'remove' the swimmer on the 'M'. The 'M' ties youth teams together for competitions but has no importance in this adult logo.
c) add a design that suggests 'Hurray. I Did It!' Well over a third of the people who join us come in stating they are afraid of the water and many more don't state it. When they 'graduate', it's a big celebration with woops and high fives and tapping knuckles and clapping and thumbs up and hands raised high in 'victory'. That's what we'd like to somehow capture, or at least hint at in the logo. Note that just hands coming out of the water are seen as 'drowning hands' reaching up for help by our scared students and, consequently, we don't want those.

• Something that suggests water or a pool. We've thought of using the 'I' in Sigma as a body with an excited hand in the air or having an excited someone 'breaking through' the work or splitting the word.

Should not have

• Nothing gender specific (like the old logo). Gender neutral please.
