Logo Design Brief
This logo is for a self-defense system and company. It will be used on t-shirts, uniforms and a website. "Melee" means a confused struggle, or a hand-to-hand fight among several people. "Scholar" refers to a student or learner in a particular field of study. We take a scientific approach to understanding and managing real-life violence.
Use of the reptile is essential to the logo. "Melee Discipline" is based on biology, physiology and psychology. We use the body's natural survival instinct for a rapid response to threats. This instinct is stored in the limbic system within the brain, also known as the "reptilian brain."
We would like to use the colors blue, gray and yellow in the logo. The color blue represents security. The color gray to represent control and neutrality. The color yellow to represent intellect and optimism.
