Logo Design Brief

Art Raving Dad is a fun, energetic brand that teaches kids how to draw through step-by-step YouTube tutorials. Our audience ranges from young kids (ages 5–12) to parents and educators looking for engaging, creative content. The vibe is playful, approachable, and slightly quirky—with a dad-joke twist!

The show features Lucas (Art Raving Dad) and his talented son Phoenix showing kids how to draw.

We’re developing a strong visual identity for our YouTube channel, social media, and merch that captures this energy and builds recognizability.

Design Goals:
Create a visual style that feels fun, bold, and educational.

Appeal primarily to kids but also resonate with creative parents and teachers.

Feel homemade but professional—authentic and artistic, not too corporate.

Logo & Branding Notes:
Current logo features a blue dynamic pencil/brush icon and orange text on a black background. We like the movement and energy, but we’re open to refinements. We've attached a image for reference that we like.

Typography should be clean, bold, and friendly (think rounded sans-serifs).

The color palette should remain bright and energetic. Example: primarily orange and blue, with a possible third accent like teal or yellow. We are open to suggestions.

Should work well on both dark and light backgrounds.

Style influences: Dog Man, Art for Kids Hub, StoryBots, PBS Kids, with a bit of a cool "dad who still draws" attitude.
