Logo Design Brief
Shotgun Ceremonies is an extremely UNIQUE, one-of-a-kind shipping container wedding chapel based in Seattle, WA, offering fun, fast, and non-traditional elopements for couples who want something meaningful without all the fuss. Specializing in quick, personality-packed ceremonies—from simple to offbeat—Shotgun Ceremonies is the go-to alternative to courthouse weddings and cookie-cutter events. With a bold, quirky and rebellious vibe (Think "rock-n-roll," Elvis wedding options, funky but elegant-ish decor), the brand speaks to couples who value ease, authenticity, and a celebration that actually feels like them.
We’re looking for a talented designer to refresh/reimagine our existing logo with a modern, professional upgrade that still reflects our quirky, bold and rebellious brand personality. Our new slogan will be: "Shotgun Ceremonies: Courthouses are for criminals. Elope with us." And we want the logo to fit that irreverent vibe.
Updates
A significant amount of the designs didn't follow the design brief in any way. PLEASE review the design brief thoroughly before beginning. We have sent feedback to several designers but have not yet received revisions, so we need more time to both allow designs to come in that more closely match the requirements of the design brief, and also to allow designers to work own revisions we have/may request.
Target Market(s)
Couples (primarily 30–50) who want a meaningful, stress-free elopement that skips the traditional wedding chaos. Many are introverted, time-conscious, budget-aware, or simply non-traditional by nature. Some are from out of town or out of the country, others are local but want to avoid the courthouse. They value authenticity, simplicity, and a little personality. They’re not looking for fairytales—they’re looking for something real (and fast).

Requirements
Must have
- A modern, professional, and easy-to-read design A bold and rebellious feel — not traditional or frilly A look that reflects the quirky, offbeat, and fun nature of the brand Must work well in both full color and black & white Scalable: must function across website, signage, merch, and print
Nice to have
- A nod to Seattle or Pacific Northwest vibes (subtle, not literal) A subtle reference to elopement or non-traditional love An optional icon or badge version that can be used on stickers or social media A design that hints at speed or simplicity without being cliché Typography that’s unique but legible
Should not have
- Anything that feels overly romanticized, floral, or wedding-traditional Script fonts that are hard to read or overly ornate Literal “shotgun” imagery (unless stylized in a very clever, abstract way) Overuse of hearts, doves, or generic wedding icons Any tone that feels corporate, stuffy, or too serious
