Logo Design Brief

We are a family owned and operated business, we have one shop in MN where my father works and one in TX where I work. We started the company after my brother passed away last year, although we have been wood working for many years. We mainly produce high end cutting and serving boards made from American Hardwoods. Our best selling product is our end grain cutting boards which will last longer than you will because the grain of the wood is parallel to the knife blade instead of perpendicular so surface damage is minimal and easily sanded out. Many customers hesitate to use their products at first because they are in many ways "works of art" with unique designs and patterns as well as many one of kind options but the products are designed for everyday use and last "forever". The materials we use most are Maple and Black Walnut but we also use Cherry, White Oak, and some others occasionally depending on the art piece. The name Ope Y'all refers to Minnesota (Ope) and Texas (Y'all) where our family is split between and where the two small shops are located, both are regional terms that illicit feelings of being "in the know" when used properly. We want the logo to convey trust, confidence, perhaps family and be classic/timeless, nothing overly flashy. The logo will be displayed on very expensive kitchen counters as we intent to burn the logo or some piece of the logo in to some of the products.
