Graphic Design Brief

I need a simple logo for my business. I tried myself with Inkscape, but I don't know what I'm doing :).

The SVG gives you an idea of what I'm after, but I'm happy to see different designs along the same lines or surprise me with something different.

The main issue is the hackergotchi. It was created for me almost 20 years ago, when an 80x80 8-bit image was fine.

I'd like an updated version of something very similar as a separate file that I can use as my profile image, as well as in the logo. A more recent photo of me is attached.

I would like the logo to work on light and dark backgrounds. The first use case is something that can go bottom right on a PowerPoint deck.
