Logo Design Brief

I need a business logo for a "do it yourself" garage. We are looking to create a community of car enthusiasts that have a passion for project cars and want to do the work themselves. The problem most people have is access to specialized tools, lifts, space, and other resources that make working on or restoring a car very expensive. I want a simple logo that avoids the cliches associated with automotive shops such as checkered flags and wrenches. Looking to express authenticity and true car culture and avoid the commercialized, over used images that exist already.
