AJ BLUNT PAINTING — CAPABILITY FLYER SET REFRESH
We are AJ Blunt Painting Contractors, a family-owned painting business in Adelaide, South Australia, trading since 1982. We have five existing capability flyers — Strata, Heritage, Facilities Maintenance, Commercial, and Aged Care. We would like an additional 6th one done that is 'Designer/Architect' aimed. They work, but they look templated. We want them rebuilt as one premium, on-brand family: same look on every page, elevated execution, and zero design inconsistency between them.
IMPORTANT: This is a SET, not five separate jobs. The single most important outcome is that all five look like they were made by the same studio at the same time. Nail one master layout and flow all five flyers through it.
BRAND ASSETS
Our Style Guide plus logos are attached and is the source of truth. The colours, fonts, and logo usage in the guide override anything you see in the current flyers.
Quick orientation:
- Logo: "AJ BLUNT PAINTING" stacked mark with the multi-shape icon (red / blue / yellow), sitting above the strapline HERITAGE | COMMERCIAL | RESIDENTIAL. Always keep that strapline locked to the logo.
- Brand colours: blue (primary), red (signal), yellow (accent). Use the exact hex/CMYK values in the Style Guide.
- Tone: established, trusted, award-winning, family-owned.
If any asset (font file, vector logo, hex codes) is missing from the attachment, please ask before starting — do not substitute look-alikes.
WHAT TO KEEP
These elements already create cohesion — keep the concept, just raise the craft:
- The top credentials row of six icons (24-Hour Quote, Professional Project Management, 5-Year Workmanship Warranty, Experience, Master Painters Award, Quality Paints). Keep six markers; redraw the icons in one consistent premium style.
- A large hero image near the top of page 1.
- Three supporting columns of body copy.
- A "Featured Projects" page 2 with a clean image grid and captions.
- A footer band carrying the contact and tagline.
WHAT TO CHANGE
- Replace the light-blue / cyan title banner blocks. They look dated. Use a restrained premium header instead — brand navy, or clean white with a single thin accent rule. No bright cyan fill.
- Change centred body copy to left-aligned text on a strict grid. Left-alignment reads more professional.
- Add whitespace. Give the copy room to breathe. Premium means generous margins, not crammed text.
- Use one bespoke, consistent icon set. Standardise the label wording and length.
- Use one identical footer system across all five flyers.
- Make the hero imagery the visual anchor — larger, sharper, with the same framing treatment applied identically on every flyer.
- Establish a clear premium type hierarchy (display heading, section heading, body, caption) per the Style Guide and apply it identically across all five.
- The only thing that should differ between flyers is a single category accent (e.g. a category label or one tinted element) so each service is instantly readable. Structure, type, footer, and icon row stay identical.

FORMAT AND SPECS
- Size: A4 portrait (210 x 297 mm), 2 pages per flyer (front + Featured Projects).
- Bleed: 3 mm all edges, with crop marks on the print export.
- Colour: supply both a print-ready CMYK version (PDF/X) and a digital RGB version (these are emailed and viewed on screen as well as printed).
- Resolution: 300 dpi for all placed imagery.
DELIVERABLES
For each of the 6 flyers (both pages):
1. Print-ready PDF (CMYK, 3 mm bleed, crop marks).
2. Digital PDF (RGB, no bleed/marks, optimised for email).
3. PNG or JPG of each page (RGB, for web/social).
4. We would like an editable file so we can change the copy when required and images. We predominantly use Canva in these situations but are open to suggestion.
PLEASE AVOID
- Bright cyan / baby-blue banner fills. We would be okay using the #01385D colour.
- Centred body paragraphs.
- Stock-photo cliches (handshakes, ladders, generic team shots) — use the project imagery we supply or just have a boxed area where we can add imagery.
- More than three accent colours on a page.
- Drop shadows, bevels, or gradients that fight the clean brand look.
- Any deviation in layout, type, or footer between the five flyers.
HOW WE WILL LOOK AT SUBMISSIONS
1. Cohesion — do all five read as one family? (Most important.)
2. Premium feel — does it look like a high-end contractor, not a template?
3. Brand fidelity — does it match the attached Style Guide?
4. Usability — clean hierarchy, legible, print and screen ready.
