T-shirt Design Brief

We need a commemorative t-shirt designed for a food and cooking competition ("Throwdown") featuring barbecue restaurants from the city of Houston.

The general themes are fire and smoke.

The front of the shirt should include some representation of the words "2026 Houston BBQ Throwdown!"

The design SHOULD NOT include images of round "kettle-style" backyard barbecue grills because these are associated with amateur cooking.

The design should fit in the central part of the front of the shirt, do not expand to the sides of the shirt or the shirtsleeves.

The back of the shirt should include details about the event and should be mostly if not all text. Similar to a music festival t-shirt where the bands are listed on the back. It should be in a block in the center of the shirt, not on the edges or shirtsleeves.

The event details are: "2026 Houston BBQ Throwdown!" and the date "20 September 2026"

A list of participants should be included, with two rows of 7 listed. The listings should be:

At the bottom of the back, the website address should be listed: houbbq.com.

This should be designed as a one or two color print on a MARROON or DARK RED t-shirt.

The design should be figurative and dynamic and not include any literal pictures of things. It may have a retro or vintage feel to it. A copy of the logo we use for the event is included. It provides an idea of a similar scheme, but we would like the t-shirt to be different from this. It would be nice if the logo were incorporated in a small part of the back of the shirt.

We have also included some examples of t-shirt designs that we like. We also included images of previous t-shirt designed for similar events.

Source files provided should be editable as vector graphics (PDF preferred), for example in case we need to change the lineup of participants on the back.
