Logo Design Brief

This is more of a fun project, but I really want a cool logo and brand style guide to play with. I keep a group of captive bred freshwater stingrays in some large aquariums in my house. Originally the species is found in Brazil, but my group has been bred in captivity. In order to promote captive breeding and to protect wild populations in Brazil, I have started a breeding group of my own. I will eventually be selling the offspring under the name "Leopoldi". Leopoldi is also the scientific name of the species. The full name of my effort is "Leopoldi - stingray project" my domain is leopoldi.com. The stingrays themselves are quite striking black and white with spots. Google "black diamond leopoldi stingray" for some more images.
Requests:
1. try and use some image of the stingray (see photos).
2. I like modern fonts and clean look/feel.
3. This will be featured on a website, magazine articles, and other fun branding opportunities.
