Book Cover Design Brief
Book title: The Broken Boss
Tagline: Occupational therapy needed
Author: Aiden Choles with Natasha Hardy
I'm about to publish a book that is a business fable about a CEO of an up and coming telecommunications company who has to go through the most intense personal rebirth in order to save himself and his company. Having come from the old industrialist mould of management, Howard (the main character) has got to the top by dehumanising his staff to get maximum productivity out of them. On the eve of a massive product launch that is set for failure due to his staff's lack of buy-in, Howard has a car accident and wakes up in intensive care in hospital. He's had a stroke and needs to learn to walk and talk again. He embarks on a hjourney of occupational therapy that allows him to re:humanise himself and learn that the key to his company's success is to re:humanise the organisation. But will Howard's executive team welcome him back in this new fluffy mindset? Will his senior management be able to go through the same 'occupational therapy'?
I need a book cover design that highlights the pun of 'occupational therapy' and that re:humanisation is the key to fixing what is broken about management in the current marketplace. The idea of a broken boss is key. People are not slaves nor resources, they are people. The target audience are CEOs and senior leaders who are the verge of burnout.
