Just two questions:
should all of them be in one family? like if one of them is for example a round yellow single head, the other 14 should be round & yellow & single?

& should emoticons in other categories be the same again ? like "happy" & "funny" & " eating" emoticons should be all in one family?

No, emoticons doesn''t have to be in one family. It can be yellow, round, square as long as it shows happy and funny.
