Logo Design Brief
I need a logo design for a photography company called "Jennifer Hope Photography". Although I sell nature images and provide portrait services, my specialty is sports photography so I don't want a logo that is too feminine. I'm looking for a logo that is strong and elegant (but not frilly)…can be contemporary (but not abstract).
My website colors are navy and a medium/light blue (JenniferHopePhotography.com) - with more of a gallery or tailored feel. I'd like for the logo to have blues or soft to medium shades of yellow. If a neutral color is needed, I prefer gray over tan. The logo needs to be eye catching on a business card, stationary, etc., but it also needs to look good when reduced and used as a watermark.
In case you are wondering, "Hope" is my middle name. Few people say my last name correctly and even fewer people spell it correctly, so I decided to stick with my first and middle names.
My tag lines are "Capturing life's sweet memories and fleeting moments" and "Memories and moments…preserved". I do not expect these to be incorporated into the logo but I think it helps you to understand my passion. My aim is to freeze moments in time, creating tangible memories.

Thank you for all of your design submissions. This decision is much more difficult than I imagined. If you would like to make any other submissions, please do so before Friday, March 21st. I'm seeing some really nice designs and I'd like some time to gather my team for final votes and thoughts. Plus, I'd like to allow time (before my deadline of the 24th) in case we need to get back with any of you for final adjustments.

I'd like to offer sincere thanks to all of the talented designers who presented logos for our company. There were so many ideas that demanded serious contemplation. We finally narrowed the offerings to 5 favorites - all of which I would have been proud to use. I was so torn between the top choices that I turned the final decision over to my team. Target Market(s)
I need to reflect a professionalism that appeals to the schools and organizations that hire/invite me to cover their sporting events. I also need to appeal to the players and parents who purchase the images.
Purchases of the sports images have lead to requests for event and family photography. It has also increased exposure to my nature photography. At the core, my business is sports photography but it is evolving. As a result, I hesitate to promote myself (via a logo design) as a sports photographer. That is why I'm aiming for a logo that appeals to (predomininantly male) athletes by not being too ornate nor "girly". However, I'd like to maintain a sense of style and elegance.

Must have
- I'd like a logo that represents a company (photographer) that is both professional and approachable. It must be eye catching and it must look good when reduced and used as a watermark (both in color and grayscale). I'd like to avoid a photography logo that looks "stock". I'm hoping for a design that looks distinctive and original. I also like unique fonts.
Nice to have
- Not a necessity, just a comment…I seem to be attracted to photography logos with a stylized camera, lens or aperture. But I don't care for camera designs that look like a front loading washing machine. lol
Should not have
- Please do not incorporate:
hearts, flowers, butterflies, dragonflies, bows
pinks, purples, neon colors
I'm also not a fan of bright/dark orange.
