Logo Design Brief
I am head of a small, private, all-scholarship school for low-income students in San Diego. This summer (August), a group of friends and I are going to bicycle from San Fran to San Diego, 630 miles total, over the course of eight days, as a way of raising funds for the school. We’re looking for a logo (and tag line [though I think the one we’ve proposed is good: “Every Mile Helps a Child”]) that we can use for a sponsor flyer, on bike shirts, on our website, etc. The logo should include our school’s name and the name and date of the ride prominently, as noted in the details below; but how that is presented (shape, motif etc.) is up in the air. The color scheme should be white and/or navy blue, or a variation of blues, as these are the colors of our school. (Please see our official school logo, included.) The name for the ride will be the “NATIVITY PREP ACADEMY of SAN DIEGO MAGI│CAL BIKE CHALLENGE.” (The unofficial mascot of our school is/are the Magi, from the traditional Christmas/Nativity/birth lore; and the ride will take place here in California—i.e., Cal). We would like the dates (August 9 – 16, 2014), the name of the ride, the beginning and end points for the ride (San Francisco to San Diego, and the tag line included in the logo. In terms of design, rectangle is probably good, but, again, we’re not committed to the shape; however, something more ‘modern’ (clean and simple) would be best, and it probably can and should include, in visual terms, a bike or bike wheel…something to identify the event clearly as a cycling event. Thank you.
