Logo Design Brief
Trademark Antiques is an internet-only antique & vintage jewelry company that has been in business since 2008. From 2009 through 2014 we have sold our items exclusively through the on-line marketplace Rubylane.com. In the coming months, we are launching our own website and will use the new logo as part of our re-branding efforts. We have attached a copy of our existing logo.
We would like our new logo to incorporate our name "Trademark Antiques", but the logo might also incorporate our new tagline, "Invite a Conversation without Saying a Word."
We would like to see a refined logo design which speaks to a high end clientele. Optimally we would like the design to include a graphic element which can be recognized as a small watermark on our product images. We have attached a preview image of our new website as well as product images showing how we are currently using our logo as a product image watermark. Preferably the graphical element should be conformable to a square aspect ratio for use as a profile image on social networking platforms like facebook, twitter, etc.
The design should lean towards the traditional, conservative side and display graceful, elegant lines. The designs that we have liked best to date have stylized renderings of our corporate initials (e.g. either "TM" or "TA") however we would also be interested to see graphical embellishments as long as they are cohesive with the design. The designs which have been based on a strictly modern aesthetic should be avoided. If you would like some design inspiration, try searching "Art Deco", "Art Nouveau", or "Arts and Crafts". These are three distinct design periods from the early 1900's through the 1930's in American and European jewelry manufacture that represent a good deal of our inventory.
Here is some additional information about our new website:
Trademark Antiques offers a carefully curated collection of antique and vintage jewelry with an eye toward today’s fashion and style. Each of our pieces has been carefully hand selected for its uniqueness, exceptional workmanship, or storied past. We strive to showcase only the most beautiful jewelry that connects our clients to the past and invites conversation about a different time and place. Through our blog we encourage visitors to join us on our travels, look through our gemological microscope, explore jewelry history, and create fashionable looks using antique and vintage jewelry. We hope that our website provides an engaging on-line experience for anyone who loves beauty, appreciates history, or finds pleasure in unique fashion.

A heartfelt thank you to all the designers who have submitted to our posting so far. After two days, we have received a few designs that have a look that we are trying to achieve. At this point, I wanted to offer some additional guidance and inspiration by linking to a few designs from other logo design competitions that we really like (please see links below). Please don't hesitate to contact us if you would like preliminary feedback on your ideas or if you would like further guidance. Thanks again!
