I admire the archetecture of the Taj Mahal and the meaning behind it.  What I had said was a JOKE.  I am sorry you feel offended, but when things go wrong, you have to laugh at it or you''ll drive youself crazy.  Look at the opening ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympics, one of the arms did not open.  But you know what, they went on, joked about it, and fixed it for the closing ceremony.

Appreciate your concern and we do not want to upset our valued designers.  These projects are genuinely intended to be fun and a way to give back to the design community. If they are provocative then we are okay with that, but we certainly do not want to upset people. 

Can you elaborate on why you feel it is insensitive?

Admin: Can you get Mila to stop posting advertisements to their site on comments to contests?  It''s rude and uncalled for.  If they have a design, submit it, the contest holder will let them know if they like it.  They are spamming all over.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.  To elaborate this post concerns me, be it in poor taste or motivated by genuine racism, as it suggests to our clients that the community here find child labor funny and can laugh at 17 men being crushed by a falling bridge.  I don''t perceive this as a truth.

I hope that this is simply poor taste-satire.  Even still, if it were you or a loved on who had been injured by a collapsing bridge I doubt you''d giggle. If it were your child installing chairs as a large man with a stick watches I hope you''d be outraged not smirking.  Whatever the motivation here, (sick humor or shrouded racism) this is not the kind of thing commonly acceptable in the workplace.  People have been dismissed for less.

You may believe this is just poor taste-satire and not xenophobic hatred.  How is it not racist to laugh when a people suffer, whatever the reason?

In any case, a percentage of rational, balanced people do find poor-taste-humor to their liking and of course you''ll also get a giggle from the racists.  But at the same time you represent an entire community as either racists or insensitive.  Which is unfair at best.

If your motivation is to give back to the community and have fun.  Why don''t you have a brief that will produce an awareness campaign for some kind of world struggle and give the prize to charity.  The product would be far more valuable and better received in designers'' portfolios than a silly and possibly xenophobic rehash of a copyrighted logo.
