Icon Design Brief

We are looking for a new icon for our Android app called "facedroid". To state the obvious, the name comes from merging "Facebook" with "Android" and the app is a Facebook app for Android tablets.

Due to the fact the official Facebook app doesn't offer a particularly good experience on Android tablets, facedroid is designed to combine an attractive interface with great functionality and performance.

We feel the existing icon just isn't working as well as we'd like it to and hoped to have someone come up with something creative, whether along a similar idea to the existing implementation or a completely new idea, and we would then use this not only as the app icon but also integrate it across other promotional banners and marketing materials. If you're able to show how your design would also work across other promotional materials (see examples on the links below), that would help me get a better feel for which designs might work best across the required materials.
