Logo Design Brief

We need a new main school district logo for all printed and media materials (website, letterhead, signage, etc.) . We are a small suburban school district with 2 schools: lower/elementary (pre-k through 4th) and upper/middle (5th through 8th). Additional coordinating logos for the elementary (Illini Elementary - team name Eagles) and middle school (Grant MIddle School - team name Yankees) would be great.

Bright and bold, but not too in your face or crazy. Forward thinking (see tagline below). We focus on nurturing academic as well as emotional growth. As a small school, we are a family so there should be a feeling of safety and security. Like having books and people in logo. See examples. Avoid dated (see our current logo) and overdone (apples, mortarboard)

Colors: Main school colors are blue and gold(yellow) similar (doesn't have to be exact) to the following:
