Logo Design Brief
THIS PROJECT IS NOW CLOSED PLEASE DO NOT UPLOAD ENTRIES
The logo / branding is for a british professional golfer called Anton Haig.
The branding side are working on Anton’s theme colours being black and white... perhaps silver.
We have had some branding people work on some brain storming for the brand / logo :
Think – dark lion, dark leopard, zorro, batman.....this is a guy who had it all, who fell down hard and who is on his way to redemption. i.e. the legend of ‘The Batman’ which is all about a tortured soul (parents murdered in front of him as a child) who descends into chaos and trouble but then (through his own strength, heart and character) rises again doing the right thing and setting a great example to all. Good versus evil. Redemption. The latest ‘Dark knight rises’ series are all trying to capture this concept which is uniquely powerful in legend, literature and film. Think Clint in Pale Rider and the man with no name Westerns, or Seven Samurai in Japan (on which the Magnificent Seven was based) or the darker side of Arthurian legend, particularly Lancelot, Ben Hur, Gladiator, etc. etc.
In order to get to the good bit they have to have been through the bad bit.
Also everyone (particularly women) loves a reformed bad boy – good boys are boring! So the tortured thing (has demons) is important - not to flag up - but as an underpin to his subsequent revival. Born from the Ashes, rises like a Phoenix (actually Phoenix is not a bad thought) etc.
All powerful stuff and Zorro (means fox in Spanish) is a part of this, albeit as a fighter for the common man against the establishment – however he is Mexican!!! And a bit Douglas Fairbanks Junior and Disney for our purposes. I think it runs the risk of being a bit schoolboy of ‘The Victor’ comic soft and attracting ridicule. Also it is a bolt on (as Batman would be) and therefore lacks authenticity and truth.
I'm also attaching a jpg of the current webdesign that will have to be reworked (not by you) to fit in with your logo / brand / colors
I'm also attaching an image of a previous competition we held and the final 3 logos - notice the style - they are all nice and compact, not too busy very web2.0 and have a symbol+name of brand : it would be somthing of similar quality we are looking for.
I will need source files of course from winner.
Updates
Hi there everyone and many thanks for the efforts so far.
Please see these notes so people will not waste any time :
1) please read the brief
2) there are alot of generic logos being proposed - its not quite this we are looking for - As yourself if your logo could suit any golf professional, golf club etc and if so then it most probably is not what we are looking for
3) we are not looking for anything with a massive amount of detail - something quite simple and web2.0 is what we seek
other than that its up to your creative minds !
