Graphic Design Brief

I have the need for a professionally-designed, multi-page report template, consisting of 8.5 x 11 inch pages - like a book, but not facing page design. An InDesign template would be best for my purposes.

This is a professional document in which I will need a main column for text, and a side column (around 1/3 of the width) to include photos, graphics, quotes, and lists. No background colors should be used, but perhaps some shading would be fine. This will be distributed as a PDF and will be printed by many in greyscale - so it should look great, and be easy to view without color.

As it is for a university publication, it must be overall professional and a bit subdued. The design should not overshadow the content, but enhance the overall experience. Most of all, I am aiming for something that is original and interesting.
