Logo Design Brief
We need a logo design for a new website that provides online tutoring for students studying senior high school (pre-university) sciences: physics, chemistry and biology. The product provides step by step learning pathways that include access to interactive media content. Diagnostic testing provides feedback to students along the way on progress and will develop new pathways based on achievement.
The design should communicate a solid educational brand but be a little quirky/off the wall like the name suggests. The design should engage a market who will most likely hear about us through social media or word of mouth. We are an online school but do not want to come across as conservative, stuffy or old-fashioned. The logo has to be playful, contemporary and intelligent. We are offering an established and well-understood concept (school) in a new fresh, fun and innovative way (multimedia learning) and our logo should communicate this. We want to appeal to teenagers who are looking for a product that will improve their results but in a way that is completely different to what they get at school.
While the design should include the text below, we also want to be able to use the logo graphic on its own.
We originally provided a brief that was too concrete and gave too much direction and has not provided much in terms of design. We hope that this revision will provide more creative scope for the designers.
