Book Cover Design Brief
I am an author and need a book cover for book one in my 3-book series. I'd be interested in using the same designer for books 2 and 3. The book is a Christian romance set in Northern California about a Christian woman who falls in love with a man she believes is also a Christian. She meets him for the first time on a college campus while biking to class and accidentally runs over him with the bike, knocking him to the ground. The woman is beautiful, tall, about 28 with long dark hair and amber eyes. She is a interior designer by profession. The guy is handsome with light brown hair and light blue eyes about the same age. He's an accountant but is dressed casually the day they meet. I don't necessarily have to have the characters on the front. I want the cover to state that this is book one in the Almond Tree Series and give the title of the book, For All Eternity. I like bright colors but am open to anything pleasing to the eye. I need the cover for both e-copy and paper copy. On the back I'd like a brief bio of me and a small picture of me as well as the synopsis. See attached. The front will also contain this blurb : WHEN LOVE TRIUMPHS OVER A LIE
Please create the cover in a Photoshop file in layers. I need a cover for a 8x5 book with .25 in bleed on all sides. Thank you.

I'd like to add an additional thought. I'd like for my cover to show a thirty year old man wondering who God really is. Maybe through the use of a sunrise, scenes from nature, pictures that reflect the spiritual. Since this is a romance, it could feature a 30 year old woman with long dark hair and amber eyes also pondering her life - feelings for this man. Or... show her in silhouette or a shadow. Must have
- The cover must reflect that the book is a romance and spirituality at the same time. Suggestion: the hero in silhouette, faded, or his back looking at a sunset, a grove of Almond Trees, or walking down a path next to a creek. Season is spring or summer and the location is northern California. A small faded picture of the heroine with long straight dark hair and amber eyes with a look as if she's thinking.
Nice to have
- An image of an almond tree is a possibility and/or a scene from Northern California. Perhaps work in a bicycle.
Should not have
- Gaudy design.
