This is an interesting brief - Could you please advise what size you require for your sign?

Did you want to include any imagery ('market' related drawings, etc) or did you want your sign to be purely type-based?

Also, I noticed in the background of the existing sign, that there is some flowers or clovers used - Did you need these included in your new sign?

thanks for your message.

I don't have the exact dimensions of the sign, however I think it is around 4 metres high and 2 metres wide.

What I was thinking was that once I had a new design that I would get a signmaker to digitally print it on a rigid material at the correct size.

The flower/clover I think was just added to add a bit of interest. The building is located in a town surrounded by farm land.

I do quite like the organic feel of plant leaves or certain flowers - preferably New Zealand native plants for instance - the Kowhai flower or leaf block, pohutukawa, or kaka beak - reference images can be found with google image search

Geometric patterns could also be an option.

Once again the imagery is only to soften the sign and add some interest.

I know it is a busy time of year for a lot of people.

In terms of feedback you will see that I have updated the brief. I am keen to drop the M from the sign, and have the focus on the word Midway. Then something like a stylised pohutukawa flower (or other NZ native) to give the design a bit of interest.

Thanks for your email.

I have not closed off the competition yet. It seemed as though a number of designers were put off submitting designs due to the closeness of Christmas. I received a number of designs but a lot of them were not as contemporary or clean as I would like. One, which incorporates a stylised flower design is pretty good and is currently my preferred design.

I would be interested to see a design from you as I did like the look and feel of your portfolio.
