Flyer Design Brief
The Healthy Gut Clinic is a new company providing Dietetic services for people with gastrointestinal disorders. The main client base would be people suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome. IBS is a collection of symptoms which (will be individual to the suffer) including constipation/diarrhoea/abdominal pain or discomfort/bloating/belching/flatulence/stomach gurgling/reflux/nausea/urgency/incomplete emptying/fatigue/headaches. IBS affects approx 30% of the population. Previous treatments have generally been ineffectual and include medication, hypnotherapy, healthy eating.
Recently it has been found that the FODMAP diet (a diet low in fermentable Carbohydrates) has been effective in 75% of sufferers.
The Low FODMAP diet is complex and it is highly recommended that it is undertaken only under the supervision of a suitably qualified dietitian. Treatment is available within the NHS but is usually accessible only following consultation with a Gastroenterologist. Most GP's have never heard of this treatment as the research was only published in 2009 in Australia and is yet to filter through to the general practitioner. The Healthy Gut Clinic is the only clinic in the UK offering dietetic lead specialist services.

The flyer would be double sided, informing the patient of all the self help steps they could take if they have IBS then recommending that they contact the Healthy Gut clinic for specialist advice.
Self Help: Healthy eating, regular meals, good intake of non caffeinated non alcoholic non fizzy drinks, regular exercise, stress management.
The flyer would be left in GP surgeries, Health centres, holistic therapy centres, or through doors.
