Logo Design Brief
Looking for a logo to illustrate a custom mala business (jewelry). Design should be clean and fresh, but have a a bohemian look to it. The owner really likes the color purple.
A bit of background on the products sold under this business:
A ‘mala’ is a string of 108 beads with a 109th bead at the head of the loop called a guru bead. Malas can be made out of a number of natural materials including seeds, wood, shells and gemstones. Hindu and Buddhist followers have used malas for thousands of years to count prayers and enhance meditation. Now, mala beads have become popular in the West and their meaning has expanded beyond its religious origin. Each wearer develops their own unique relationship with their mala. They can be used as a daily reminder or affirmation, provide positive energy generated from the vibrations of the beads and serve as a symbol of something greater the wearer is seeking inward.
OMmala Designs creates custom malas and chakra malas for wearers who are seeking something more within themselves, their meditation or yoga practice, or simply looking to enjoy a bohemian fashion statement.
PS I've attached the current logo, but it is MUCH too busy to be used on packaging that I'd like to have done. Logo will be printed on organic draw string pouches.
PPS The name of the business is OMmala Designs, but I am open to capitalizing the entire name ie: OMMALA DESIGNS

Must have
- bohemian feel to it, organic looking
- I'm looking for a beautiful font with a simple design either above the font or next to it - something that could stand-alone on packaging or be joined with the font. The design MUST have meaning in relationship to malas and be explained in the submission- see product description for details.
Nice to have
- Would love to see a simple design that reflects the meaning of mala beads - meditation, intention, peace, OM - please note that I do mean simple along with a stylized font - my favorite font right now is Tangerine from dafont.com - but please feel free to expand beyond this.
- I would like to see how the logo looks on printed cotton drawstring bags.
Should not have
- nothing corporate looking or childish - malas are worn by mostly women, but men too so must be appealing to both genders.
