Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design for a chain of Photography Studios that caters to Professional Photographers.
The name of the Business is: Spectra Studios
Multiple Photographers rent the Studio Space and 'make it their own' while doing photography sessions for their clients.

We'd like the logo to hint/refer at being a Photography Studio without being too obvious. There will be other clients who rent the studio space that do not do Photography but primarily it will be Photographers.

Our Business name, "Spectra Studios" refers to the light spectrum so we'd like the colours of the spectrum to be incorporated in a artsy way.

Clients are mainly women so we don't want it to look masculine.

I have attached two images that we like but of course are open to other ideas.
One is a square box with an 'iris' using a spectrum of colours.
The other hints at being a camera with a spectrum of leaves.

We are thinking of a logo on the left, with the business name to the right of the logo as later on we will be doing a sign that is long in length and short in height (1:8 ratio).

Requirements

Must have

• Want a simple and clever design.
  Must look like an artist/designer/photographer uses the space without incorporating any paint brushes or cliche artist icons.
  Must look upscale.

Should not have

• Don't want the text portion of the design to be rainbow colours.
  Stay away from straight rainbow type designs (bands of colour neatly in a row).
  Stay away from "Pink Floyd Prism/Spectrum type designs"
