Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design for an existing company that needs a modern facelift. The name of the company is Sparkplugg Lighting and Grip. Yes the name has two Gs and it's not a typo. We are an equipment rental company catering to television commercials, music videos and television shows. I have been playing with the letters SPLG as a logo with the words spelled out as well but I am open. The feeling should be simple and modern but not delicate. We are a small company catering a bunch of guys guys, so nothing too "froo froo" please. Colors are totally open as we are starting from scratch! I've attached some reference for our competition. Please feel free to ask questions.
