Logo Design Brief

We are looking for a new logo design for a NEW DIVISION for our company. LK Trailers will be a new US division where we CANNOT use the "Lode-King" brand name and logo.


A bit of history for Lode-King Industries:

Lode King Industries was founded in 1980 in Winkler, Manitoba and is a division of Triple E Canada Ltd. It began as a small manufacturing facility with a hopper bottom grain trailer being the only product. Lode King is now the largest highway transport trailer manufacturer in western Canada. The scope of product offerings has expanded as the years progressed to include aluminum and steel combination grain trailers and eventually a variety of flat deck trailers using both steel and aluminum materials. Please see attachment to view our current "Lode-King" logo.

The Logo.

We are looking to develop a new logo, featuring a Lion wearing a crown. We have a developed a logo that we like, but we are not 100% sold on.

What we are after is variations of this logo, while not changing the look and feel of it too much. We do like the outer shield the lion is captured in. The lion must have a crown, but could potentially look slightly less "mean", while maintaining a very bold and prominent look.

The logo should represent power, and prestige, as to represent our product as being a Premium Trailer, at the top of it's class. Our product is sold at a premium price, so we want the logo to represent this. Very elegant, classy, and modern. If I could sum up what we want in two words, it would be "CLEAN, SIMPLE".


Our company colours are blue and grey. See our website for example. www.lodeking.com. We would like the new logo to keep the same colors. Something very clean, modern, and simple. The logo, should at most have two colors, blue and grey, but could also just have blue. Keep it simple.

Also, another idea would be to encapsulate the lion in a highway sign (ie. route 66 logo.) If you cannot incorporate this in an extremely simple way however, please stick to the shield, as it looks simpler.

Requirements

Must have

• Colors must be white, blue and silver. Must incorporate the a simple, modern Lion wearing a crown emblem.
  
  We would like to have two different versions. Please see John Deere example attached as we like the two formats the logo can be displayed in.
  
  "Emblem Logo"
  We would like a vertical format logo, where the emblem would be dominant with the term "LK Trailers" underneath.
  
  "Wordmark Logo"
  We would like a horizontal logo, with an emblem and then the term "LK Trailers" to the side of it.
  
  I stress, must not deviate too far from the Lion logo we are providing. We are looking of VARIATIONS of this type of look. Change the look of the lion, change the font of LKTrailers. Keep it simple.
