Logo Design Brief
need a logo for a new company based in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The main work is portraits and destination weddings, although based on a beach town, its aimed to do business also in any other type of cities/towns.
The founder and main Photographer, Emilio Santamaria, has years of experience as a Photojournalist so, the focus of the company is to capture not only the images in a esthetic-artistic way, but to capture the real emotions happening, memorable images of unrepeatable moments.
The design should appeal to both woman and men, I would like it to project a sensible view and gentleness but not be overly feminine, I'm not opposed to use for example soft shapes/designs but balanced strong colors, or the other way around.. mostly I would like it to project passion. (I don't mean romantic passion but the passion you do things with)
I want to stay away from clichés like wedding rings,roses and absolutely no cameras on the design, generic icons like stock art are not what I'm after, rather a unique sophisticated look, that seems well thought and work on. one of the main characteristics I'd like on it is the REMEMBER IT factor, something easily recognizable that stays in your memory, that conveys a very clear message and powerful, so it can be used alone with out the text as well.. the importance of the name (essense) is not in the letters but more in the concept; "essence"
As for colors, maybe use blood red somewhere but other that, surprise me!
Mmmm.. here are some adjectives I would like the design to portray: clear, stylish, modern, powerful, to project passion, cleaver, friendly-gentle, MEMORABLE!!
I'm not looking for any initials looking logo or pretty letters graphic.. I guess I need to emphasize the wish for a logo that stands alone, separated for the text, a logo that communicates a message, a feeling, clear and powerful. Endless number of photography business use just their name in a pretty or stylized typography, I want to stand out from them

Well, at the beginning I was a little disappointed for the very few submissions and the quality of them, some seemed not to even have read the brief.. However I GLADLY saw this changing with the days, and lately I have been receiving more and, IMPORTANT, BETTER DESINGS :D :D :D so, I have decided to extend the deadline and GUARANTEE THE PRICE !! in the hope this will bring even more of these great quality designers.. I'm also considering to offer a second place price.. let's see how it goes.
