Logo Design Brief
This logo is going for more of an extreme feel. It's going to be satirical news but we want a logo that would suggest it's all real. I have included several existing brands, in a hope to give an idea of how we want it to look. Also have included our own attempt at a cricketing logo (titled Logo)
The newspaper's name is: THE CAPTAIN'S KNOCK
Here are some of the key things to think about:
- as for this stand alone logo, I have included our mock up idea of a cricketer's sillouette in black and red - but have also included the Baseball and NBA ones.
- I have included the wordpress template that we will be using for this website. Should help give you more of an idea of the look we are going for.

Requirements
Must have
- - It's all about cricket news, no other sports are involved. So ideally, a cricket related logo is what we want.
- - Any use of Cricket stumps, Cricket balls, cricket ball stitches, cricket bats, helmets, pads can work - they are all pretty iconic shapes and some could work in the text. - potentially making the 'T' on "Captain" look like the middle stump and bails?
Nice to have
- - Hoping to have the text looking similar to some of the ones I have provided in the attached examples, but also looking for a identifiable "logo" to go with it - similar to the ABC figure-eight(ish) logo.
Should not have
- - We are hoping to appeal international so not looking to limit ourselves to Australia by using green/gold etc
- - Not looking to have a "parody version" of a famous sporting logo - but Gatorade, Sydney thunder are good examples of the extreme look we are chasing, ESPN is the best because it's so simple.
